Glossary of Terms
Kelvin (oK) – a standard unit of temperature measured relative to absolute zero, calculated by adding 273 to degrees Celsius or centigrade, used by photographers to measure colour temperature.
Keystoning – a term used to describe the effect of converging verticals. This is caused by the image plane not being parallel to the plane of the subject, for example, when a camera is tilted upwards to record an image of a building. The effect can be avoided by ensuring that the camera remains horizontal (for a vertical subject such as a building), and corrected using the "transform perspective" function in Photoshop or similar editing software.
Kilobyte (KB) –one thousand bytes of computer data.
