Glossary of Photographic Terms

This glossary contains definitions or short explanations for numerous words and terms encountered in the photographic world. In some cases, where the word or term has more than one usage, several definitions are included. The glossary has been divided into twenty-six sections to reduce the amount of scrolling necessary to find a particular entry.

The glossary entries are a mixture of general photographic terms from both the traditional and digital worlds. Hence, terms relating to cameras, lenses, accessories, camera supports, photographic chemicals, films, electronics, software, technique, light etc may be found.
