The Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain, whose headquarters is in Bath, is a learned society which promotes the art and practice of photography internationally. It is independent of other photographic organizations, and comprises amateur and professional photographers worldwide.

The RPS organizes exhibitions, runs courses and seminars, and also awards distinctions.It has many specialist interest groups that promote particular aspects of photography, as well as a regional structure. It publishes the Royal Photographic Society Journal and other specialist technical papers.
