The Photographic Society of New Zealand (PSNZ) recognizes achievement in photography among its members through its honours scheme. Awards are made at three levels which are:

The Licentiateship is granted for proficiency of a high order in practical photography, and is assessed on the basis of a submission of ten images. The Associateship is granted for a higher order of proficiency than that required for the Licentiateship, and is assessed on the basis of a submission of twelve images. Both Licentiateship and Associateship applications typically include a variety of subject matter and evidence of the successful use of a number of techniques. Where this is not the case, it is expected that somewhat higher standards should be evident. The Fellowship is granted for outstanding ability in one or more branches of photography. Creative distinction and individuality are regarded as important elements of fellowship applications.

The website of the Photographic Society of New Zealand gives current details of awards and honours, and provides relevant contacts and information on obtaining application forms.
