One of the many advantages of the Open Photographic Society is that it has space for everyone regardless of their objectives, ability, experience, location, or the nature of their photography. We are unique in that we meet on the internet, thereby freeing ourselves from the geographical limitations of meeting rooms. This approach enables us to offer a wide range of services, including some that are available from traditional local photographic societies and some which are not. We cater for people interested in prints, projected images, digital imaging, monochrome, studio work, specialised techniques such as infrared, and even mobile phone photography and holography. We also encourage beginners and all those seeking an introduction to the world of photography. We stage an exhibition every spring to showcase the work of photographers associated with the Society, and to open the door to the possibility of selling images.
