The phases of the Moon may be of interest to photographers for a variety of reasons. Some wish to photograph Earth's satellite directly whilst others may just be interested in using the sunlight it reflects toward our planet. The default moon phase displayed above is based upon a northern hemisphere view at current UK time. The display can be changed to a southern hemisphere view by clicking on the half-white and half-black circular symbol at the bottom right-hand corner.
