The Open Photographic Society's (OPS) annual exhibition features a gallery of about 100 colour and black-and-white images. The exhibition remains on display throughout the following twelve months. On-line access to the exhibition is free but those submitting images for possible inclusion are charged a small fee.
The exhibition images are selected by knowledgeable independent judges from entries submitted electronically by the Society's photographers. Those which form part of the final exhibition are expected to represent only a fraction of the submissions, so just getting images included in the exhibition is a considerable achievement. The event is normally characterized by the wide range of subject matter, technique and personal interpretation.
